Follow one bottle all the way to a bag.
Six steps, one supply chain, and a number on the label you can check. This page shows the whole route, how we count the bottles, and the parts we deliberately leave out of the count.
From a street in Kerala to a bag on your back

Waste pickers gather PET in coastal towns before it reaches a river. They are paid a fair, fixed price per kilo rather than whatever the day's buyer offers, which is the part that actually changes someone's week.

Clear PET is separated from coloured PET, caps and labels removed, then weighed and baled. This is where the weight is recorded, and that record is what the bottle count on the label is built from.

Bottles are shredded into flake, hot-washed and dried. Nothing is bleached or re-dyed at this stage, which is why our colour range starts from what the fabric can hold rather than from a trend forecast.

Flake is melted and extruded into filament, then drawn and textured into yarn. Recycled PET behaves almost exactly like virgin PET here, which is the reason this works at all rather than being a compromise.

Yarn is woven into a matte, hard-wearing cloth and given a water-resistant finish. Outer and lining both. Full material breakdown here.

Every BlueWave bag is made in the same factory, which is how a design gets better across seasons instead of starting over. Who makes it, and to which standards.
How 27 becomes Re.27
We weigh the rPET in the finished bag, divide by the weight of one 1-litre bottle, and round down. Not up. If the sum lands at 27.8 the label says 27.
of recycled rPET in the finished Re.27 Daypack, outer and lining together.
the weight of one empty 1-litre PET bottle, the unit we count in.
27 bottles. Printed on the label, repeated on the product page, nowhere rounded up.
The bag uses 27. Your order funds more.
For every euro of revenue we fund the collection of one additional bottle through our collection partner, on top of the plastic already in the product. It is paid quarterly against collected volume, so it is a purchase order rather than a donation. No round-up at checkout, no matching campaign, no asterisk.
bottles in total. 27 in the bag you carry, 79 funded by the order.
What goes into the count, and what does not
Everything made of recycled PET that ends up in the bag you receive.
Parts that are not rPET, or that are not part of the product itself.
A bottle count is not a carbon figure. We have not run a full lifecycle assessment, so we do not publish a CO₂ number. When we have one that stands up, it goes on this page.
The chain is not finished when the bag arrives.
When you are genuinely done with it, send it back. We take the material rather than letting it become waste again, and you get credit towards the next one. A loop only counts if the last step exists.
