Our products: Certified Top Quality
Human & Earth
When we make our awesome backpacks, it’s not just about style and top quality. Sustainability and responsible business are just as important to us. We want you to know that we mean business, which is why our production processes are certified according to SEDEX, SA8000, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. This means that we not only make cool backpacks, but also offer good working conditions, protect the environment and deliver top quality.

Rain? No problem
Our special fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles, keeps your stuff bone dry on wet days. And that's not all: this fabric is not only waterproof, but also extremely strong. No more tears over torn bags! Plus, no worries about dye leaking onto other fabrics. So embrace the rain and stay dry in style!

We need to act now
Hey there, let’s face it, plastic pollution is a global problem that we can’t afford to ignore. Only 9% of all that new plastic gets a second chance through recycling, while 12% is simply incinerated. Don’t be alarmed, but a staggering 79% ends up in our beautiful nature and oceans. It’s high time for action, and we’re ready! Want to know what we’re doing to tackle this crisis? Head over to our Sustainability & Impact page for all details 💪

Frequently Asked Questions
So how do we actually do it? Well, we’ve divided our approach into four main steps, as we mentioned earlier. In the first step, we’re working with our friends at the NGO Plastic for Change to collect plastic from a variety of sources.
Then, in the other steps of our process, we team up with experts in recycling and production to ensure that the collected plastic is recycled and transformed into all sorts of cool stuff.
To make it visual, take a look at the image above, which shows how these four steps are connected and how we work together with Plastic for Change and our recycling and production partners.
And if you want even more details, you can always read our full mission page to look at.
Absolutely! Our products are 100% vegan approved by PETA. We make sure that no animals or animal products are involved in the making of our products.
So, when it comes to the materials we use, let's take a look. Over 90% of our materials are made from Ocean Bound Plastic. We are seriously committed to avoiding animal products and the environment, so that's great.
When it comes to zippers, buckles and padding components, we are still looking for recycled alternatives that meet our high quality and environmental standards. Currently, we still use new stainless steel for these components, but don't worry, we are working with local partners to find better options.
Specifically for our bags and backpacks, you can expect them to be filled with PE (polyethylene) or EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) depending on the model. Our belts and shoulder straps on the other hand are made from recycled cotton. We keep it green and eco-friendly where we can!
But what happens when our items are no longer wanted or (eventually) reach the end of their lifespan? We introduce TBC Buy Back - for your TBC products that no longer get the use they deserve or are simply finished.
