Our products: Certified Top Quality
People & planet
When we make our awesome backpacks, it's not just about style and top quality. Sustainability and corporate responsibility are just as important to us. We want you to know that we are serious, which is why our production processes are certified according to SEDEX, SA8000, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. This means that we not only make cool backpacks, but also offer good working conditions, protect the environment and provide top quality.
Rain? No problem
Our special fabric, manufactured from recycled plastic bottles, will keep your stuff bone-dry on wet days. And that's not all: this substance is not only waterproof, but also ironclad. No more tears over torn bags! Plus, don't worry about color leaks on other fabrics. So embrace the rain and stay stylish dry!
We need to act now
Hey there, let's face it, plastic pollution is a global issue we can't ignore. Only 9% of all that new plastic gets a second chance through recycling, while 12% just get burned. Don't be alarmed, but a staggering 79% end up in our beautiful nature and in the oceans. It's high time for action, and we are ready! Want to know what we are doing to tackle this crisis? Frequently Asked Questions
So, how do we actually go about it? Well, we've divided our approach into four main steps, as we said earlier. In the first step, we are working with our friends at the NGO Plastic for Change to collect plastic from a variety of sources.
Then, in the other steps of our process, we join forces with experts in recycling and production. Together we ensure that the collected plastic is recycled and transformed into all kinds of cool stuff.
To make it visual, you can take a look at the image above. It shows how these four steps are interconnected and how we collaborate with Plastic for Change and our recycling and production partners.
And if you want even more details, you can always check out our full mission page to look at.
Absoluut! Our stuff is 100% vegan approved by PETA. We make sure that no animals or animal items are involved in making our products.
So, when it comes to the materials we use, let's see. More than 90% of our materials are made of Ocean Bound Plastic. We're seriously committed to avoiding animal products and to the environment, so that's great.
When it comes to zippers, buckles and filling parts, we are still looking for recycled alternatives that meet our high quality and environmental requirements. Currently we are still using new stainless steel for these parts, but no worries, we are working with local partners to find better options.
Specifically for our bags and backpacks, you can expect them to be filled with PE (polyethylene) or EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) depending on the model. Our belts ens, on the other hand, are made from recycled cotton. We keep it green and eco-friendly where we can!
But what happens when our items are no longer wanted or (eventually) reach the end of their lifespan? We are introducing TBC Buy Back – for your TBC products that no longer get the use they deserve or are simply finished.
